Sunday meetings for worship are the backbone of all the activities that take place at Arnold Salvation Army. The two main Sunday services are supplemented by a activities for children during the Morning Service.

The services follow a fairly regular pattern although we have special services now and again. These are detailed on the Planned Teaching leaflet which is freely available from the church.

The congregations, both morning and evening, are a mix of all different ages and interests although children predominantly come to the morning service.

Both services are informal but not irreverent. Music is quite a predominant feature - as it is in most churches - and as well as traditional Songs and Hymns from the Salvation Army Song book we use more contemporary music from Songs Of Fellowship and The Source. We use a video projector to project the words of songs whenever possible which allows additional freedom in worship.

Participation is a key feature and as well as the obvious singing we encourage each other to pray, read the scriptures, present drama, give personal testimony and generally contribute to worship with a very strong community feel to it.

It is not unusual for new people to visit our services, trying to understand the faith for the first time or maybe seeking to develop their personal walk with God.

Another key feature is scripture teaching - usually from our Officer leaders - which is systematically prepared so as to be enjoyable, relevant and challenging.

After the services we often mingle and chat over coffee and we just genuinely enjoy being together in God’s house.

Evening.  From 6.00 to around 7.30 p.m.
